Please join members and friends of South Dakota Speech, Communication, Debate, Interp, and Theatre educators at our annual meeting on Wednesday and Thursday July 26th & 27th, 2023.
This year, we welcome educators, coaches, and scholars interested in ways that we support all students in finding and respectfully but honestly sharing their ideas and talents. At a time when our national discourse complicates fact, truth, persuasion, and perception, it is imperative that we commit to educate and motivate engaged citizens to speak in clear and compelling ways that reach people regardless of the barrier.
We welcome submissions in communication studies, speech education, theatre, and forensics, as well as other topics that are relevant to educators and scholars across various levels of instruction. The program will include workshops in pedagogy and coaching and panels highlighting a variety of theoretical and methodological scholarship.
A special call is extended this year to graduate student research projects, young scholars presenting their research for the first time, and educators who work across the English and Speech/Theatre fields.
We will be offering continuing education credit (CEU), and graduate credit will be available through Mount Marty University.
Make this the year that you invite a colleague from your school to show them what SCASD can offer them!
