In 1978, the forensic coaches of South Dakota decided that they wanted to create an organization to help promote the speech activities throughout the State of South Dakota. They created the South Dakota Forensics Communication Association - otherwise known as the SDFCA. We are the professional organization for speech, debate and oral interpretation coaches in the state of South Dakota at the junior high, high school and collegiate level.

​We have two primary objectives: first, we provide financial support for the end of the year awards for both coaches and graduating students from the forensics community. Second, we want to provide any support that coaches, both new and old, need throughout their coaching experience.
